Excellent research is the backbone of medical science, and for more than 110 years, the Danish Doctors' Insurance Association under SEB Pension has offered financial aid to Denmark’s eminent medical researchers of today and tomorrow. Among other things, the Association each year allocates a number of travel grants to support health and medical research.

WHO ARE THE DANISH DOCTOR'S INSURANCE ASSOCIATION UNDER SEB PENSION

The Danish Doctors' Insurance Association under SEB Pension ('Foreningen for Danske Læger's Forsikring under SEB Pension') is an independent association sponsored by the proceeds of doctors' ensurances at the ensurance company SEB Pension.

Members of the Association includes 5 prominent medical doctors with different medical backgrounds, 2 representatives from SEB Pension, and 2 secretaries. Professor, DMSc Henning Beck-Nielsen is Chairman of the Board. 

TRAVEL GRANT OBJECTIVES

The grants are intended for young scholars who plan to spend about 3 months at a foreign laboratory or in a clinical department with a view to learn a specific research method or to perform a limited task.

The grants only cover travel and accommodation expenses and do not cover expences relating to participation in national or international conferences and courses.  

WHO CAN APPLY 

Young medical doctors, preferably PhD students and Post Docs, doing research within health and medical sciences living in Denmark can apply for these travel grants.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of gender, race, religion or ethnic background. 

HOW TO APPLY

There is no application form available. Applications must be sent by e-mail in one pdf.-file to kristine.michailidis@rsyd.dk 

The application must include:

  • A motivation letter of max. 3 A4 pages including
    • Aim of the journey
    • Travel plan (incl. destination, arrival and departure date)
    • Short research project description
    • Budget (incl. information about other financial support)
  • Attestation from the hosting institution
  • Curriculum Vitae (incl. social security number (Danish CPR. nr.) and e-mail address)
  • Recommendation letter from a supervisor or the like (not required, but recommended)

 Applications written in Danish or English are accepted.
