On June 9-13, 2017, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) hosted its 77th Scientific Sessions in San Diego, California. A perfect networking platform, where the most up-to-date and relevant research within diabetes is presented and discussed.
On April 4, 2017, the third and final day of the innovation course ‘Put your discoveries to use in society’, offered in cooperation with INNO-X Healthcare, was held at the Danish Diabetes Association in Copenhagen.
Actually, it was a pack of sled dogs—and their owner—who made Theresia Maria Schnurr a diabetes researcher. And she did not walk into it; she went skiing. It was a lucky punch: In her work with both a Danish and a Greenlandic cohort, she has made interesting findings, and her hope is that they will aid in eventually identify new potential targets for individualized prevention and treatment of obesity and diabetes.
On March 19-24, 2017, a total of 99 Post Doc fellows, third-year PhD students and prominent national and international speakers attended Danish Diabetes Academy's 3rd Winter School in Malaga with focus on different aspects of prevention and treatment of diabetes as well as career development.
