The Danish Diabetes Academy is a research institution established through a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and co-financed by the Danish universities, the Danish university hospitals and the JDRF. The main objective of the Academy is to build up a networking platform witin diabetes research that will help enhance the quality of diabetes research in Denmark and abroad.

The Danish Diabetes Academy was established September 1, 2012. It is financed by a 5-year grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and co-financed by JDRF, University of Southern Denmark, University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University and the University Hospitals of Odense, Aarhus and Copenhagen.
The main objectives of the Academy are to enhance the quality of Danish diabetes research by creating a world-class research and education environment and to build up a platform of networking and knowledge sharing between participating researchers.
Another important objective is to make diabetes research an attractive scientific field for the most talented researchers in Denmark and worldwide.
